“Because .... You Are Just A Click Away From
Discovering a Book That Will Show You
How To Break Free From Your Addiction . . . and
Obtain The Abundant Life God Created You To Live!"
Dear Friend,
How many times have you been told that your
addiction is a “disease” . . . that you’ll just have to learn how to
manage it?
How did you feel?
Hopeless?
Most people don’t question what they’ve been
told. After all, “they” are the experts and who are we to question
what they claim to be the truth?
Because no one – until today – has boldly
contradicted their claims, the estimated 22 million Americans who
suffer from alcoholism or drug addiction . . . stay stuck.
But you don’t have to . . . I’ll show you how.
In Case You Don’t Know Me
I
became a Christian in 1980 after becoming addicted to pain
medications due to a health issue which led to two major surgeries
in a four-month period.
You’ll read below how I finally got unstuck
from my cycle of relapsing into addiction and depression – even
while I was a Christian.
I have been a lay counselor on Christian-based
crisis hotlines for over 12 years, including developing my own
hotline in the early to mid-1990s.
God has given me the gift of discernment and
the ability to understand people’s problems from a biblical
standpoint. God also had me experience His way of transforming lives
so I can share it with others – people like you – who have given up
hope to ever get free from their addiction.
My recent outreaches included teaching these
biblical principles to men and women in rescue missions who were
transitioning from drug addictions to living their new life
following Jesus Christ.
My interaction with people in the rescue
mission confirmed what I already knew . . . that an addiction is
only a symptom. A combination of discovering what triggered them to
return to their addiction – and finding their purpose in life by
discovering their passion in life, helped them establish a permanent
change in their lives.
This new approach to overcome addictions is
setting many people free. It gives them instant hope for a better
future, even while they’re working on changing their habits.
As for my credentials, I’ll let others speak
for me.
Addiction Isn’t An Isolated Problem
After Williamson began teaching “Radical Breakthroughs to Abundant
Living” to the women and men at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, I saw
how it addresses the many issues of women with substance abuse and
helps them work through their internal difficulties so they can
bring about external life changes.

Mission, CT
A “Must” For Counselors & Pastors
As a
seasoned professional in Gospel Rescue Ministry I have read many a
manual and am pleased to say that Williamson has encapsulated a
vibrant and exciting new outlook to help my clients lead lives free
of addictions and return to useful societal life. This book is well
written in language that is easy to understand and is a superb
self-help manual. It is a must read reference for any addictions
counselor or ministry chaplain!

County Rescue Mission, CA
Giving Of Ourselves Holds The Answer
Williamson puts into words what every born-again Christian knows in
his or her heart—only God's love for us and our love for others can
overcome life's problems and give our lives meaning.
David D. Mossner, Born-again Christian, saved "alcoholic," and
social work student, MI
Knowing Our Identity In Christ Is Life-Changing
After studying Williamson's chapters on "Ten
Spiritual Laws," I can honestly say I grew in my understanding of
God's Word. Further, I found significant amounts of information and
Scripture combined and compacted into an illuminating format with
wonderfully important and potentially life-changing application of
God's intention for our lives. While in-depth, it's easy to read.
Her style is indicative of her deep study into the subject matter
and it imparts godly wisdom.

Refreshing, True and Powerful
“Radical
Breakthroughs to Abundant Living” is an excellent treatise on
breaking addictions in and by the power of God's son, Jesus Christ.
... Adhering to a biblical counseling model, Kathryn, gives full
honor to the infallible word of God, the Bible, and the power and
love of Christ to seed, sprout and grow in the heart and soul His
salvation for those who struggle with addictions. Importantly,
Kathryn stresses that those who struggle with addictions must be
involved in the complete Christian life and depart from: labels,
excuses, blame shifting, faulty theology, godlessness or
half-hearted Christianity, as well as secular viewpoints which
conflict with biblical truth. In this way, Radical Breakthroughs
states very clearly what the individual can and must do in Jesus to
be set free from addictions and live "abundantly" in Christ. This
book is written by a non-professional for those Christians who need
a direct dose of loving truth. Kathryn's personal story of being
released from debilitating addictions and depression is compelling
and lends credibility to her clearly articulated and
biblically-based treatise. I highly recommend this book.

So, how did I get to where I am today – a
successful speaker and author – from my lifestyle of addiction and
depression?
But . . . more importantly . . . how can you
begin to make this shift in thinking and acting?
STOP BELIEVING THE LIE!
What lie?
That your addiction is a disease and
cannot be cured.
I’ve watched since the early 1980’s how the
philosophies of the insurance companies and medical professions have
changed. At first, their efforts were to get an alcoholic to get proper
medical help.
They told you, “It’s not your fault.” This was
done in an effort to get the alcoholic into in-patient
hospitalization, seeing a psychiatrist, followed by many months of
out-patient therapy and support groups (all charged to the insurance
company or to the patient when benefits ran out).
While their motive might have been to provide
genuine help . . . several things began to happen. Since the
alcoholic was not set free from his problem, the medical profession
began to label it as a “disease.” This also helped the patient feel
better about seeking help because, after all, it wasn’t their fault
they got this disease.
This change in philosophy began to spill over
into other areas where the medical profession wants to help . . .
but can’t. Things like drug addiction, overeating, bulimia, sex
addiction, gambling, and now computers and the Internet.
What we have today in the Western world is a
society of unhappy people, living without purpose, and doing
whatever they can to escape feeling hopeless. This is all brought on
by believing the lie that most of our problems are a disease.
“IS IT OKAY FOR YOU TO
QUESTION THE EXPERTS?”
I dealt with my addiction to prescription drugs
and a deep depression from 1979 through 1989. As I saw the above
changes take place in the world, I never believed what they were
saying. I became a Christian in 1980 and began to believe God’s Word
(the Bible) instead of what psychology was trying to make me
believe.
A question you have to ask yourself is, what do
you use as your foundation of truth? Most people do rely upon the
so-called experts. Others, like myself, rely upon God’s Word. It is
the one solid foundation that never changes . . . yet it is still
relevant today, tomorrow, and forever.
This is your life . . . and it’s up to you to
uncover the truth about what you’re told and thereby be able to make
informed, confident decisions.
Of course, we need to be sure we’re not
believing something because it makes us feel better – which
sometimes is easier than accepting responsibility for our thoughts
and behavior.
So, the new truth I’m asking you to believe is
that your addiction is not a disease.
SO, WHAT IS OUR PROBLEM?
The answer is “sin.” Actually . . . this is the
best news around. Because, if our problem is sin (doing what God
tells us not to do), then with God's help we can take control and change our
actions.
Now I know you’ve tried taking control of
changing your life, yet it didn’t work. If you’ll continue reading,
you’ll find out why.
Most people think that God’s way of living is
too constraining . . . they think that following God’s ways takes
away all the fun in life!
This is the furthest from the truth! I had
gotten myself into my mess trying to handle my emotional problems
“my” way. I was pretty miserable. I figured, hey, following God
could only improve my life!
Unfortunately, it took me a long time to
overcome my addictions – but it doesn’t have to take you as long.
That’s why I wrote my book “Radical Breakthroughs to Abundant
Living.” It helps you understand God’s overall plan for how we are
to live . . . more about that in a couple of minutes.
“I’M A CHRISTIAN AND I’M STILL
ADDICTED – WHAT’S WRONG?”
I was a born-again, spirit-filled Christian for
close to ten years and yet I was still addicted to drugs. I kept
asking myself, “What’s wrong with me?”
I prayed, and prayed, and prayed . . . but
things didn’t change.
I would attend Christian support groups . . .
and still no help. If anything, it kept me focused on all the
problems I had and no answers to how to get out of them!
I read every Christian self-help book on the
market . . . yet none of them helped me get out of my cycle of
relapsing into my addiction and deep depression.
Pastors couldn’t help me either! They would
refer me to the “professional” counselor because my problems were
too deep for them.
Yet, deep down inside me I knew that God had
called me in 1984 to some day open my own Christian-based crisis
hotline. But because I couldn’t escape the repeated failures leading
to relapse, I became very discouraged and frustrated . . . wondering
if God could ever use me.
I tried to make things happen in my own efforts
. . . trying to determine how and where I could open a telephone
hotline. But nothing came together.
Why? Because I was doing everything from the
standpoint of “me, myself and I.”
How could I get myself cured?
How could I get “my” goals accomplished?
How could I get over “my” problems?
FINALLY . . . MY BREAKTHROUGH
CAME!
A door opened for me . . . to open my own
hotline. To do what I loved to do – help others apply biblical
solutions to their problems – and experience God’s unconditional
love in the process.
I stepped through that door . . . and an
unexpected surprise awaited me!
Within four months my entire life turned
around. Because I was involved in a big enough project to take my
eyes off of “me, myself, and I” and focus on loving and serving
others through using my passion in life.
As a by-product of that
action . . . I finally overcame my addiction and bouts of depression. Never to return to them
again.
Why?
What happened?
God’s way of living and solving problems is the
opposite of the world’s. God created us to be in loving
relationships. First with God. Then once we receive His
unconditional love, we can pass it along to others.
God created us to experience life to its
fullest through loving and serving others.
We don’t have to wait until we have our act
together before doing this. God will use us today, just as we are.
We don’t overcome our problems by focusing all
our attention on them . . . because most of our problems result from
an underlying problem . . . our lack of receiving God’s
unconditional love and passing it along to others.
Rather, God’s way for us to overcome problems
we seem to get “stuck” in (like addictions) is to focus on giving of
ourselves to others – not looking inward and dissecting every little
thing that we do wrong.
He also created each of us with a specific
passion, which He wants us to use to carry out His specific divine
vision for our life.
God gave each of us a purpose for living.
Yet, how many of us end up in addictions out of
pure boredom?
Very few of us have been taught how to find our
purpose for living . . . our passion in life . . . our specific
God-given vision to fulfill.
But this is exactly why Jesus Christ came to
earth . . . to give us abundant life.
This is the cool part – since God calls our
addictions “sin,” then it’s not a disease, and through God’s power
living in us (those of us who are Christians) through the Holy
Spirit, we now have the power to stop sinning.
But in addition to “stopping” our bad sin, we
must turn our attention to pursuing God’s divine destiny for our
life. Therefore, there is hope for a bright future – one
filled with all the love we seek and purpose to keep us striving to
go forward in life and not get stuck again!
HOW DID I HANDLE TEMPTATIONS
DURING MY PERIOD OF TRANSITION?
My life didn’t change overnight . . . but it
did change!
I had to stop listening to the lies in my
“self-talk.” Lies like –
Who am I to think
God will use me.
I won’t ever succeed, I’ll do something to screw up my life,
just like I always do!
God makes other people’s dreams come true, but not mine.
Everyone knows I’m a loser, so why would they believe I’m capable
of carrying out this new dream?
I can’t do this by myself – I need someone to encourage me. And
since I don’t have anyone who can encourage me, why even start,
knowing that I’m going to fail?
I’ve been stuck in my addiction and depression for so many years,
how can I ever change my character enough to be able to handle what
lies ahead of me? So now I’m stuck with this dream but no way of
making it happen!
I had to stop those thoughts as soon as they
began – not after I had listened to them over and over and gotten
myself into an emotional frenzy.
Then I had to change my focus to think on good
things. Things like:
God is greater than any problem
I have.
God is able to help me change my character to become the person
who can fulfill this great big, awesome vision He has given me.
God will never leave me nor reject me. I don’t care if everyone
on earth rejects me, I know I can count on God to be right by my
side.
God has forgiven me for all my sins (addictions and all the other
problems in my life) and, in fact, He has forgotten them. So I need
to forget them too and move on in life!
Instead of hating people who have hurt me, focus on loving them
anyway and making an effort to build a loving relationship with
those people.
Because I can’t get rid of this dream, God must be willing to use
me to carry it out!
Pretty soon . . . I noticed my motivation had
changed. Instead of wanting to avoid my addiction because I didn’t
want to go back to that lifestyle . . . I wanted to avoid my
addiction because I didn’t want to mess up the good life ahead of
me!
Did you catch
this shift in thinking? Read the above paragraph again.
I was on the right track and I didn’t want to
mess up my future.
I can look back and see how God was
working in my life all along . . . changing me so that I would have
the character to be able to fulfill the vision He gave me.
DO I EVER STRUGGLE?
Yes, but not with my previous addiction or
depression. Being a Christian doesn’t mean we won’t have any
problems . . . in fact, sometimes we have more problems because we
stand up for God’s truths.
But I no longer struggle with:
- low self-esteem
- pity parties
- doubt about God using me
- feelings of guilt and
condemnation
- feeling trapped in my
addictions
LIFE WITHOUT
AN ADDICTION . . . IS GLORIOUS!
Have you ever sat down and dreamed about what
you want your life to look like once you overcome your addiction? If
not, do that today . . . and put it down on paper so you can review
it from time to time and add to it.
My life without an addiction is more exciting
than I could ever imagine. It’s awesome to experience the freedom to
pursue the opportunities God puts before me. You can experience this
life too!
- You can know the specific
purpose God created you to fulfill!
- As you spend time every day
in pursuit of God’s goals, you get energized!
- You wake up every morning
with an excitement to see how much you can accomplish today.
- You have short-term and
long-term goals and know they are God-centered.
- You’ve got lots of dreams .
. . and the confidence that you will reach them with God’s help.
- Your relationship with God
deepens as you see Him work in your life and even through the
trials you go through.
- You are motivated and
determined to carry out God’s call upon your life . . . no
matter what obstacles Satan throws your way.
And you can achieve these results . . . if you
follow the principles in my book “Radical Breakthroughs To Abundant
Living.”

Radical Breakthroughs
To
Abundant Living
Kathryn E. Williamson |
|
This book is broken into three sections.
- Understanding Your New
Identity in Christ
- R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Principles
- Applying These Principles
to Ten Different Problems
The main principles are easy to remember
because they form an acrostic R.A.D.I.C.A.L.:
R elationships
A ttitudes
D isciplines
I nspired Living
C lean Heart
A bundant Fruit
L ove
These principles center around the two main
principles: (1) love God and others, and (2) pursue God's vision for
your life. As a by-product of implementing these goals, your
problems get resolved.
Here are some of the things you will learn:
- Since you already have all
of God’s love and all of God’s power inside you, you operate out
of love and power . . . instead of wondering if you’re good
enough for God to give these to you.
- Understanding the
distinction between your spirit, soul and body helps you
recognize that our spirit was “born again” when you became a
Christian . . . and now you need to learn how to bring your soul
(mind, will and emotions) and your body (your 5 senses) into line
with your new beliefs.
- 10 Spiritual laws
that guarantee instant change.
- How to develop healthy
relationships that will last years and years!
- Discover your passion in
life and create an exciting future that will pull you out of
your cycle
of addiction - freedom - relapse . . . and into the life you’ve
always dreamed about.
- Choosing the right
attitude every morning takes you to the next level of living
the abundant life.
- Disciplines
. . . both spiritual and physical . . . are easier when you are
passionate about your future.
- Getting rid of the hurts
from your past and learning how to handle any new pain in a positive
manner . . . keeps your heart open for everything God desires
to give you.
- Knowing the process of how
to develop your character and how to handle the ups and downs
of the seasons of growth helps you stay on the right path.
- Love
– never fails. Love is what holds all these principles together.
Think of how you build a brick wall. You have
all the various bricks (biblical principles) . . . but you don’t
have the wall yet. It requires that you use mortar to hold the
bricks together. Love is like the mortar.
You need to apply love to
everything you do as you
build your
new life according to biblical principles
SINCE ADDICTIONS AREN’T AN
ISOLATED PROBLEM
LEARN HOW TO APPLY THESE PRINCIPLES
TO OTHER PROBLEMS
But . . . remember . . . your main problems
can be resolved by (1) learning how to develop healthy relationships
and (2) discover your passion in life and how to utilize it in a
life-long project of loving and serving others.
So, what are some of the other underlying
problems?
- Depression
- Codependency
- Marriage Problems
- Boredom & Lack of Direction
- Single & Hating It
- Teens Without Hope
- Struggling Divorced Parent
- Midlife Crisis
- Growing Old Without Purpose
These aren’t the only problems people struggle
with – but they’re the main ones that . . . if we don’t learn how to
handle them . . . will keep us stuck in our addiction.
WHAT WILL YOU GET WHEN YOU
APPLY THESE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES?
Hope . . . to
finally get out of your cycle of addictions.
Confidence . . . that this
time you’ve found the answer.
Freedom . . . to pursue
the life of your dreams.
Expectation . . . that God
will help you become the person
to handle life’s ups
and downs.
Security . . . in who
you are through your personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Guidelines . . . for a
lifetime that you can refer to whenever you
find yourself straying
off the right path.
And – you will no longer:
- Have pity parties
- Feel “stuck” in a bad
lifestyle
- Live a double life
- Constantly lie to cover up
your addiction
- Have your life sucked out
of you because
you feel like you don’t have control to change.
What’s it
worth to you to finally get the answers
on how to achieve the life
of your dreams?
You can’t afford not to get this book. What’s
worse . . . going through the pain of change . . . or staying stuck
where you’re at?

bold promise I made at the beginning of this letter . . . that
you
can permanently overcome your addiction.
Because I’ve seen it happen, time after time .
. . and I know it can happen for you too!
The key?
Discover your passion – find a place to volunteer on a weekly basis

others.
Don’t let the simplicity of this process be a
stumbling block. Remember, God’s ways are not man’s ways.
And if you apply the principles taught in my
book, I guarantee you that your life will change. If it has not
changed within six months, I will refund the purchase price of your
book . . .
. . . but first . . I will discuss with you how
you attempted to apply these principles. My goal is not to make
money off you . . . my goal is to help you get permanently set free
from your addiction and discover the abundant life God created you
to live.
From my experience as a lay counselor on
Christian-based crisis hotlines, I know you have read this letter to
this point because you want help. And that is what you’ll get when
you read my book “Radical Breakthroughs To Abundant Living” and
apply it to your life.
So, buy it today, read it several times, send
me emails with your questions or concerns or prayer requests . .
and let’s walk this road together to get you to where God wants you
to be.
